Getting Started
A quick tour of Alechemy - from creating an account to brewing your first batch.
1. Create an account
Head to the register page and sign up with your email. You'll receive a confirmation link - follow it to activate your account. Every feature is unlocked during early access, so there is nothing to configure up front.
2. Set up your profiles
Profiles describe your brewery. They are reused across every recipe, so setting them up once saves you time later.
- Equipment: mash tun, kettle, and fermenter volumes, plus boil-off and trub losses.
- Water: your source water chemistry and salt additions.
- Mash: step mash programs you brew often.
- Fermentation: temperature schedules for different yeast strains.
- Carbonation: target volumes and serving temperatures.
3. Build a recipe
Open the Recipes page and create a new recipe. Pick a style, attach your profiles, and add fermentables, hops, yeast, and miscs from the ingredient library. Alechemy calculates OG, FG, ABV, IBU, and SRM as you work.
4. Brew a batch
When you're ready to brew, start a batch from the recipe. The brewsheet walks you through mash, boil, fermentation, and packaging - logging gravity, temperature, and notes as you go. Finished batches stay in your history for reference on the next iteration.
5. Tools and references
The Tools section has standalone calculators for one-off calculations outside a recipe: ABV, IBU, SRM color, and priming sugar. The Library holds shared style guides and ingredient references.
